my practice centres around sculpture – how form fits into its environment – relationship between form and colour

I am a professional artist, curator and art educator showing regionally and nationally, with experience in international commissions, workshops, public engagement and residencies.

I work in response to environment – natural form manipulated through a variety of medium: Initially drawing, photography, and the written word; developed through painting and construction; sometimes resulting in installation, site-specific or sculptural works.

I have recently moved my practice to the Forest of Dean which is leading to new avenues of exploration in my work. Hitherto most of my work has been made in response to coastal areas and the built environment: here in the Forest I am responding to forested, rolling, dramatic landscape and look forward to exploring and responding to the regions’ industrial heritage.

I bring over thirty years’ experience of exhibiting, selecting work and hanging shows, commissions, residencies, workshops and teaching to my practice. I am a member of farOpen, Colchester Art Society, Greenbelt Arts Collective and previously commission4mission.

With strong demonstrable interpersonal and communications skills,I amconfident and intuitive when dealing with students, colleagues and the general public. I am a self-starter; used to managing my own time and expenses in a responsible way and I am experienced in delivering projects and commissions on time and within budget.
